Giles Clark joined National Energy in early 2018 as CIO and is a highly seasoned solar executive and value investor. Given his deep industry expertise in renewable energy, Giles advises the company on strategic planning, especially across cross-border M&A activities. As a solar entrepreneur over the past 15 years, Giles has a long track investing across differentiated markets and at various stages of the solar value chain. He has executed over $2bn of successful solar transactions, representing more than 2GWp of project rights and project assets which returned significant value for underlying investors. He founded Primrose Solar in 2013 which acquired and built 253 MWp of solar in the UK, including three of the largest ground-mounted farms in the UK at the time – these businesses were successfully sold to Bluefield, Greencoat and Equitix in 2016. Previously, Giles founded Sunray Renewables in 2006 which developed a pipeline of 1.4GWp of utility-scale solar projects across southern Europe which was acquired by Sunpower in 2010 for $277m in cash.
Giles originally trained as an accountant at Deloitte having specialized in cross-border corporate tax. He is a PPE graduate from Brasenose College, Oxford University and holds an MBA with distinction from London Business School. He sits on several boards including the Gresham House Renewable Energy VCT 2 Plc. Giles was an early evangelist of clean energy and supports and promotes the company ethos of delivering profitable renewable energy projects with a positive community impact. He is an underwater enthusiast who enjoys encountering all forms of marine life and actively scuba dives having experienced over 150 underwater challenges.
Daniel Hamilton was appointed as a director in March 2024.
Ignacio Esteve joined National Energy in June 2021 as non-executive director and is now an Executive Manager. He brings over 20 years of experience in the global renewable energy sector growing companies from start-up to maturity stage.
Ignacio is currently a leading green hydrogen expert in Spain and is co-developing hydrogen projects from concentrated solar power via a joint venture with Nasdaq-listed Fusion Fuel Welcome (Ticker: HTOO) with Fusion Fuel Spain. This is one of Spain’s leading green hydrogen technologies, developing green hydrogen generation plants and green hydrogen service stations. Separately, Ignacio, via META Energy Development, is leading the development of 300MW of solar greenfield projects in a joint venture with a large London-based infrastructure fund.
Ignacio brings a demonstrated track record of successful outcomes of growing and selling businesses. In 2005, Ignacio founded Ynfiniti Engineering Services, a Spanish company which constructed, commissioned, operated and maintained more than 2000 MW international wind portfolio, where he grew services revenues from €0 to €14m in 5 years, ultimately delivering an annual €1.5M profit. The company was recognized as one of the top three O&M wind services organizations in Spain. In 2010, the company was acquired by the Weir Group, a FTSE100 global engineering conglomerate with over 16,000 employees and €3bn of revenue providing safety, efficiency, and sustainability solutions. He was retained as CEO of Weir Group Spain in 2011, where he oversaw the integration and transition of rigorous governance and health & safety requirements of the acquired privately-owned company to meet the standards of an FTSE 100 company. Previous senior roles include the deployment of an international network of companies in engineering inspection consultancy services for industrial clients at Bureau Veritas, founder of soil recovery projects at Advent Environmental and industrial engineering management at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
Ignacio holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and a MSc in Engineering Management both from Western Michigan University. Ignacio is a graduate from ESADE Business School, Board Members Program (2021) and IESE Business School’s PDD Executive Development Program (2003). Ignacio is passionate about minimizing the environmental impact of society and focuses his time on searching for technologies to improve it.
His most enjoyable moments are spent with his family, traveling and discovering new landscapes and the diversity of people, food and culture.
Jimmy joined National Energy in June 2021 as non-executive director and is now an Executive Manager. He has over 27 years in the power generation sector, with the last 15 years within the renewable energy sector.
Jimmy has a long track record in the wind and solar sectors, with extensive international experience. From 2013 to 2020, Jimmy held managerial roles with leading global IPPs including positions as EVP Global Head of Operations at Sonnedix, COO at Cubico Sustainable Investment, and Operations Director at Greencoat Capital LLP. He also held senior roles in the onshore and offshore wind sectors at Vattenfall and Vestas. Jimmy has focused on building high-performance asset management, construction and engineering teams and has experience working both on the asset owner and asset operator side.
Jimmy provides adept renewable energy operational and governance advice to National Energy and is passionate about innovation and optimisation across the renewable asset management sector. He has been involved in the transition to a clean energy world for nearly three decades and is actively mindful of his individual carbon footprint.
Jimmy can be found spending time outdoors with his family in his native Sweden, where he enjoys biking, fishing, and observing the pristine freshwater lakes and the surrounding biodiversity.
He is a graduate of Lund’s Technical University and holds a BSc in Power and Heat.
George joined National Energy in 2019 as one of the very first employees and was instrumental in setting up the Greek operations including the establishment of relationships with key industry stakeholders and government officials. He led the portfolio’s continued growth and implementation, involving development and due diligence processes, tendering and negotiating construction agreements and arranging over €450m in bank financing, also utilizing the EU Resilience and Recovery Fund.
Since 2021, he has maintained overall authority in Greece while promoting a culture of operational excellence across the company’s internal systems and processes.
George brings over 15 years of experience across investments, fund management, engineering and deal origination. He previously worked for Engie UK, SSE, and Ingenious Group in the UK Alternative Investment Fund team. He has worked on utility-scale infrastructure projects across district energy and co-generation, e-mobility, materials processing and biogas generation. He helped structure and finance two of the UK’s first feedstock pre-treatment plants.
George is a top 5% Dipl. Eng Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Patras in Greece and holds an MSc from Imperial College London. He is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineer as a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Giannis brings 17 years of operational experience across industry and advisory roles at blue-chip firms such as Voltalia, Toyota Motor Europe and EY-Parthenon. He has a strong track record in leading teams and managing portfolios across different technologies and regions.
Giannis joined NE at the beginning of 2022 to facilitate NE’s growth. Under Giannis’ management NE has built an agile and effective Asset and Construction management organization, with strong supporting functions such as Procurement and HSE. Under his leadership, the team has succeeded in more than doubling NE’s operational footprint to 150MWp and putting another 230MWp through design, procurement and construction, with excellent adherence to HSE, budget and timeline adherence.
Giannis was previously Head of Asset Management for Voltalia’s UK solar and storage IPP portfolio, where he drove the asset management strategy focusing on value creation and preservation. Giannis also worked as Head of Operations and Asset Management for Euroenergy Investments, helping the company grow from zero to 350MW of operational wind, solar and biogas assets in Greece, Romania, and Latvia.
Giannis holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from NTUA Greece, an MSc in Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University and an MBA from London Business School.
Dimitra joined National Energy in June 2024. She brings twelve years of specialized legal expertise across all legal streams and with her extensive experience in Renewable Energy projects, her support is invaluable as National Energy continues to drive sustainable growth. Areas of her expertise include energy, oil and gas, international investment, environmental and public law. She specializes in renewable energy projects, M&A transactions, project financing, corporate issues and regulatory licensing procedures.
Dimitra has joined the team from EDP Renewables where, as Head of Legal, she demonstrated exceptional leadership by leading all legal responsibilities and M&A activities of a total pipeline of approximately 1 GW onshore wind and PV projects.
During her previous working experience as a lawyer in Karatzas & Partners Law Firm, she has participated in project financing for several renewable energy projects in Greece, has been a member of the legal team as regards the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project, and has advised some of the largest international power traders on the Greek regulatory framework.
Dimitra holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Reading and a Master’s Degree in State and Public Policy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Konstantinos joined National Energy in January 2025 as Group Finance Director, where he leads the company’s financial strategy, planning, and cash flow management across its expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects. With over 20 years of experience in finance, private equity, and investment management, he brings deep expertise in M&A, deal structuring, capital allocation, and financial performance optimization.
Prior to joining National Energy, Konstantinos served as Investment Director at Hellenic Capital Partners, a private equity firm managing over €110 million in assets. There, he led transactions across the renewable energy, logistics, and F&B sectors, managing a portfolio of more than 10 companies in the renewable energy sector. Among his notable achievements was the successful negotiation and execution of the sale of a 70MW portfolio of wind and solar assets in Greece, delivering strong returns for investors.
Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at IBG Management and the Investment Bank of Greece, focusing on M&A, fundraising, and structured finance across multiple industries. His expertise lies in optimizing financial performance and delivering sustainable growth in complex and dynamic business environments.
Alongside his private sector work, Konstantinos has contributed to public sector initiatives, serving as Vice President of the National Organization for Medicines and as a member of the Drug Price Negotiation Committee. He currently chairs the Healthcare Services Price Negotiation Committee, leading strategic negotiations and cost-saving reforms in the healthcare sector.
Konstantinos holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and a Bachelor’s degree in Financial and Banking Management from the University of Piraeus.
